About Bright Sparks

Bright Sparks is an electricity workshop aimed at delivering the KS2 electricity curriculum to Primary school pupils.

The day is usually delivered to pupils in Years 4-6 however upon request can be delivered to Year 2 pupils.

Sponsored by Electricity North-West the day is also extremely good value for money and uses good quality resources.

The day is very flexible, but as an overview, covers the following areas:

  • Sources of electricity
  • Making circuits
  • Troubleshooting circuits
  • Experiment with circuits (each pupil having their own board)
  • Electrical safety including a safety DVD to promote discussion

I have been delivering Bright Sparks since Easter 2013 now, after taking over from Keith, who initially developed the scheme.

The scheme is extremely popular in Cumbria and allows me to travel to a variety of different schools, all over the county.

Bright Sparks is managed in Cumbria by STEM Cumbria Ltd and sponsored by Electricity North West Ltd.
